Marotta: “Inter will start spending again after having taken on so many free agents”. The Nerazzurri U23 is born

MILAN – It's now official, Inter will also have a second team from next season. The announcement was made by president Beppe Marotta , on the sidelines of the club's shareholders' meeting and the presentation of Inter's new board of directors : "We are setting up the Under 23 model. We will present the application to the federation. We too will have a second team in the 25/26 season. We will play in Monza . We are evaluating the squad, model and technical guidance".

Inter, change of pace on the market

In the press conference following the meeting, Marotta also spoke about the market . He assured that there will be no revolution. But a change of direction, yes. “In recent years we have made few investments, focusing on free agents. We want to start spending again, to rejuvenate the squad and enhance the technical assets. Oaktree has given us this opportunity. Confirming the players we have is already an important objective. Obviously we will sell some. We have created a hard core of Italians, with five or six Nerazzurri in the national team. Then we focused on players who are a little older. Now we are projecting ourselves into the future”.

The new board of directors of Inter

As for the composition of the board of directors, the new members are Massimiliano Catanese , former chief of staff of the club, as well as Claudia D'Arpizio and Diego Gigliani . Alessandro Antonello , former corporate CEO, and two independent directors, Carlo Marchetti and Amedeo Carassai , have left. On Carassai, the journalist from Le Iene raised a question at the conference: the manager is currently the director of Piomo , a company under Uruguayan law that controls Microgame , an IT platform that also hosts online gaming. "This dual role (in Inter and Piomo, ed. ) would have violated article 24 of the sports justice code", said the reporter. Marotta responded on this point: "It finds me unprepared".
